Experience Description: * Dr. Senior Research Scientist – Schlumberger Stavanger Research Development of new algorithms for seismic interpretation and large scale data analysis arising at different phases of petroleum exploration and production. * Expert Evaluator and Vice Chair – European Commission Since 2012, Dr Bounaim has taken part in the evaluation process of proposals submitted to MATH-PHY & MATH-ENG panels. These proposals are to be funded as Marie-Curie Actions within the 7th European Framewrok Programme (EUFP7). Dr Bounaim has acted as an Expert-Evaluator and Rapporteur for different proposals of Initial Training Networks (ITN), European Doctoral programmes (EID, EJD), and H2020-HPC. From 2014, the programme is called Horizon2020 (http://ec.europa.eu/msca) * Lecturer – Mathematics – University of Stavanger Lecturer – Mathematics for Master’s degree students in Petroleum Engineering * Research Scientist – Meteorlogical Institute of Norway, R&D, Oceanography section Oil drift forecast system: In the meteorological institute experience, Dr Bounaim became familiar with a new field of applied mathematics to oceanography & took part in an EU project where the goal was to develop and improve an oil drift system that predicts early stages in case of oil spill accidents. These accidents are known to cause environmental damage and financial losses. The project was motivated by major accidents that occurred in open sea or coasts, e.g. in the French coast. Dr Bounaim’s task was to rework the system by including pre- and post-processing data modules.
