Meet in Person
I am of East Indian Descent and somewhat overweight (195lbs) I have lived in Trinidad & Tobago all of my life. I have visited the USA multiple times, England, Jamaica, Grenada, Barbados, Canada, Mexico. I have a wife and 4 kids (3 sons and 1 daughter). Eldest is my girl, 33, sons being 32, 30 and 25. I love speed and anything NATURAL that causes an adrenalin rush.
Of all the mentoring I have had over the years, Only one will ever stand out, way above the rest. It goes like this – In my very formative years in a mechanical workshop, I mentioned to the Engineer in charge that i was so amazed and impressed by how the senior guys were so SKILLED at machining and welding and his response was – ” If you are normal, YOU can do anything another human can do, once you put in the work that they did and if you put in more than them, you will be better than them”. Those words lit a flame inside of me to the point that what I know now, in all of the different fields I have successfully ventured into, I attribute to those words. I have told all of my children, these very same words, REPEATEDLY. I have also added the following one to my list and it goes like this – “Nothing happens by magic, there is always a reason and you need to find that reason in order to fix it”. Troubleshooting is something I do, really well.
At my place of employment, I designed an Excel spreadsheet to manage our Planned Maintenance program so as to avoid the tenuous physical aspect of the weekly issuance of these inspections and their corresponding record keeping and at the time, saved the company thousands of dollars by them not having to purchase an elaborate computerized Planned Maintenance program.
I planned engineering work for all of the 6 engineering supervisors on a weekly basis.
I managed the entire air-conditioning and refrigeration systems throughout the factory ensuring all repairs and maintenance were done according to factory standards by contractors.
I managed building services contractors as well re. painting and civil works.
I supervised the Sanitation department and had 7 employees under my guidance.
I procured engineering materials on an emergency basis at a moment’s notice.
