Having my own Personal Careers Advice & Guidance Service has given me extensive knowledge in how to help people with their career planning, to include any necessary education, and helping people to create their own action plans to help them achieve.  I have done this for 7 years, which I believe is a lot of experience and makes me fully capable and prepared to help others in finding and achieving their own success.

However, all of my work over the last 16 years has incorporated working with people in a holistic way.  Meaning that I look at the whole person and all participating factors, rather than just the perceived factor/issue.

Life is about more than just a job, hobby or a qualification.  Therefore looking at everything people have to deal with in their lives, gives them a better chance of making their own success stories.

I have worked with a wide range of individuals, not only in age range ( children, young people, adults and grandparents) to people from more affluent areas, to those from more deprived areas and backgrounds.  Making it very easy for me to adapt to different people and the areas of work needed to provide them with an excellent service.

Achievements:
I have worked in mentoring/teaching roles for 16 years. Information, Advice and Guidance has been a large part of this for the last 7 years. Empathy, resilience and being pro-active have been very important aspects of my career, and personal life. I have over come many barriers in my own life over the years. Therefore helping others to find, work round or over come barriers within their own lives has given me great gratification. Having always been sporty, I have extensive experience on how to focus and achieve in a healthy way, and that amazing feeling of achievement. Being a very busy mum of four, I have had to learn and incorporate many planning, organising, and coping techniques, which I love to share with others. Through being a very sociable person, I find it really easy to approach new people and speak with people I have never met. However I understand that not everyone is like this, and can sometimes need support to take that extra first step in speaking with someone new. When I have time, I love to do a whole range of different things, ranging from different sports (cycling, swimming, yoga, the fitness gym), eating in different restaurants (spicy food being a favourite), taking the kids to different activities (fairs, arcades, bowling, activity parks), visiting bars with friends, going to the cinema or theatre, and going to see bands/singers.

Experience:
Experience Description: I have supported vulnerable women in overcoming barriers. Through my careers education, information, advice and guidance work, I have helped them to create personal action plans to achieve what they are intending. This has included reviews to check whether they have been following the action points on the action plan. My work has always been done on an holistic basis, looking at the whole person and participating factors as well as the perceived factor/issue. Providing me with 16 years experience in doing so.

I chose to study my Post Graduate Diploma at University as a mature student, with 3 children under 6.  So having faced many challenges and still achieved what I set out to makes me think that I would have many personal experiences on top of my professional ones to help others in achieving their oen goals.
