Meet in Person
I was born in Sweden in 1979 and at the age of 8 I moved to Greece.I graduated with excellence from the 2nd High School of Aghia Paraskevi , Athens in 1997 and the same year passed the Panhellenic Exams and entered at the Dental School of Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki.I graduated with ‘very good’ in 2002 and the same year entered the Medical School of the same University.I graduated with ‘very good’ as well in 2006 and subsequently served my army duty as a doctor at the Greek Special Forces for one year. After a short period of time when I worked as a doctor at sports events (soccer and rugby), I started my Specialty in Neurosurgery in 2008 and finished in 2014 at the General Hospital of Nikea, the busiest trauma unit of the Balkan countries. In parallel,I was trained in all the modern techniques of neurosurgery and especially Spinal Surgery, under one of the best Neurosurgeons worldwide,Dr. Dimos Bouramas.
In November 2014,I moved to the United Kingdom for specialization. The first year, until August 2015,I was trained in all the modern techniques of Neurosurgery at South Tees NHS Trust as a Senior Trust Fellow.Immediately after I subspecialised in Spine Surgery as a salaried Spinal Fellow at James Cook University Hospital (Senior Spinal Fellow 2015-2016 and National Spinal Fellow 2016-2017).This period of time,I was trained by a very experienced team of Neurosurgeons and Orthopedics.I performed independently more than 500 operations (official UK logbook) and was dealing with around 40 patients per week in the emergency and outpatient department. Also,I had a very close collaboration with doctors of other similar specialties and belonged to the team of the exceptional Rehabilitation Centre of the unit (Golden Jubilee Spinal Cord Injuries Centre). Finally,I did a lot of academic and research work.
In September 2017,I returned to Greece and belong to the scientific team of Bioclinic Thessaloniki, Bioclinic Athens and since October I started my own private practice in Thessaloniki Centre. I am also collaborating with all the private hospitals of Thessaloniki with Neurosurgical Department (Interbalkan Medical Centre, St. Luke Hospital, General Clinic and Blue Star Clinic). My special interests are ancient greek literature, mountain walking and travelling around the world. I am married with one little son.
I am very happy to share the experience of three different countries (Greece,U.K and Sweden) which have completely different private and national health systems. My thorough knowledge of all the aspects of Neurosurgery (except for Functional) and especially Spinal Surgery is something that I can offer to anybody having the same passion and love for the most charming part of medicine, Neurosurgery.
