My name is Jami Netter, a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. I graduated from Indiana State University and completed an internship with the Children’s Hospital of New Orleans. Since I have graduated I have continued to work with children, adolescents and adults in a multitude of settings. I worked at a psychiatric facility as a Recreation Therapist working with all ages and taught preschool concurrently. I maintained a third job as a server during this time.
As a Recreation Therapist, I completed individual assessments, completed notes on each session, as well as conducted group therapy for Geri Psych, Adult Psych, Adult Chemical Dependents, Adolescent Psych, Pediatric Psych, and Residential (Adolescent) Psych. I also organized events for holidays and a prom for our Residential units. While employed as a Recreation Therapist I was trained to be a CPI (nonviolent crisis intervention) and CPR instructor.
While teaching preschool at a privately owned daycare I started up Parent’s Night Out, Summer Adventures, and a Before and After School program. I was also promoted to Assistant Director and Director in absence of owner.
Since this time I have continued my education in Recreation as well as in Applied Behavior Analysis. I became a Registered Behavior Technician.
I now am employed as an independent contractor working with individuals who qualify for Recreation Therapy and am employed as a Manager and Host of an Indianapolis restaurant.
I specialize in working with children, adolescents and adults with autism as well as a variety of other diagnoses for Recreation Therapy.
