I was born in 1953 and I am of Rwandan nationality. I have a solid experience in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Environmental Health and Environmental Protection and Food Safety.

I graduated chemical engineer in 1980 at the faculty of polytechnics of the national university of Zaire/Lubumbashi Campus. I post graduated sanitary engineer in 1986 following a joint programme of “Ecole d’Ingénieurs de l’Equipement Rural” of Ouagadougou, Burkina-Faso and “Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne” of Switzerland. I got a postgraduate diploma in “environmental science and technology” in 1992 at the “International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering” of Delft in the Netherlands.

I attended a nine months training programme in the United States of America in 1983 in the field of conventional and non conventional energies. I attended short courses, seminars and workshops in the field of water supply, sanitation, hygiene and environment in Africa and Europe.

In general, I have design and implementation expertise and experience in the following areas: Drinking water supply, including pumping systems; Drinking water treatment; Liquid and solid waste collection and disposal/treatment; On-site Sanitation, including design, construction and management of latrines; Storm water collection and disposal; Hygiene promotion and BCC; Community mobilization and participation; WASH monitoring & evaluation; Design of WASH programs with links to livelihoods; WASH standards and guidelines; Environmental Impact Assessment; Writing of proposals for the Government, UN Agencies, various Donors; Training and Capacity building in WASH for staff and communities; Policy, strategic and normative documents; Terms of reference for studies and specifications of works; Bids documents for studies and works (technical specifications, bills of quantities, drawings, etc.); emergency relief programs; etc.

I have skills and experience in programme management. I have experience in preparation of projects’ reports and monitoring documents, in financial management of projects, in staff management and training, in preparation of proposals and new projects. I have sound knowledge and experience in international donors’ procedures, including EU/ECHO, UN Agencies, World Bank procedures.
