Other Information:

My specialty is best summarized in my TEDx talk. I’ve had a winding career path myself, with many difficult career transitions, so in my Master’s and PhD programs I specialized in work and careers: how people make career decisions, what contributes to career satisfaction, organization–employee fit, etc. I was a qualitative researcher who still loves to interview others about anything and everything, but especially about their work!

I’m currently the Head of Organizational Learning for a Western consulting firm in Kenya. I train entry- and mid-level employees in consulting skills, as well as support their personal and professional development. I do a lot of career coaching and personal mentoring at work—and it’s the most rewarding part of my job.

Before coming to Kenya, I:

  • Taught at universities in the U.S. for over 10 years, mostly teaching public speaking
  • Consulted international students applying to top 10 MBA programs in the U.S. and Europe, including writing and editing resumes, cover letters, and application essays, and helping candidates prepare for interviews
  • Worked as a writer/editor for a publishing house (I’m a published author myself, in both academic and popular outlets)

I’ve lived in America, Germany, Israel, and Kenya, and traveled in over 20 countries around the world.

If you’re unsure of your career path, just starting out your career, looking to make a career switch, or experiencing fear or anxiety about work, I can help with that. I’ve not only studied these phenomena at the doctoral level—I’ve lived them myself! I’m also happy to assist with job searches, resume and cover letter writing/editing, interview preparation, and skill development.
