RMIT BPC is a University wide initiative, which aims to foster entrepreneurial activities and build connections with the Melbourne business community by giving students the chance to create a winning business plan, and to develop ideas into new, innovative companies and ventures.
The Competition offers students a rich “real world” learning experience through the judging process, Business Skills Workshops, mentoring program and networking opportunities, along with a pool of up to $100,000 in University and industry sponsored prizes.
As a Judge and Mentor I provide the skills, contacts and insight to help a team with their Business Plan. The judging process gives students and team members an opportunity to learn from enthusiastic and dedicated entrepreneurs, technologists, and professionals who have been there and done that. It also provides the business community with a social forum to interact with the best and most promising student teams from RMIT, as well as a chance to meet other entrepreneurial leaders.

Located in Melbourne's inner east, Stonnington covers an area of 25.62 square kilometres. Taking in the suburbs of Prahran, Windsor, South Yarra, Toorak, Armadale, Malvern, Malvern East, Glen Iris and Kooyong, Stonnington is home to approx 90,000 residents. Council is governed by nine elected Councillors with municipal elections held every four years. As a Councillor I represent the needs and wants of East Ward residents and work with Council to create a city of excellence, liveability, sustainability and financial strength. Member of Audit Committee, Economic Development, Arts and Tourism and Cycling Reference Groups.

John’s vast knowledge & expertise is further shared with organisations such as Canoeing Victoria as an Independent Director, Global Strategy and Leadership Panel at CPA Australia, RMIT University, Monash University & Rotary where John utilises his Vocation to improve the organisation and the community. He was also a member of the RMIT School of Management Research Committee. As a registered training organisation John has also been accredited as a Coach and Facilitator, and over the last 10 years he has successfully coached and mentored approximately 1500 individuals. He is currently involved with ENACTUS, an International organisation that connects university students, academic and business leaders through student led innovative ideas to create entrepreneurial- based projects that empower people to transform opportunities into real, sustainable progress for themselves and their communities.
