Achievements:
Whether supporting capital markets development projects in sub-Saharan Africa at the World Bank, IFC; launching some of the earliest and most successful interactive programming and transmedia offerings in the world; or introducing the first nationwide 4G Wimax network in Malaysia, Marta’s unconventional, quick-start approach has helped to create positive disruption in diverse industries worldwide.
As a career expat who has lived in seven major media and government centers across Asia Pacific, the U.S. and Western Europe, she has moved cities, countries, and continents in six weeks or less on multiple occasions. After receiving a Master’s in International Relations from Boston University Brussels, and a B.A. in foreign languages and mass communications, she went on to live and work in some of the world’s leading business, media and political centers, including: Brussels, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Singapore, Sydney, and Washington, DC.
From 2005-2012, she was a founding Board Member of the Singapore chapter of Junior Achievement, the world’s largest organization dedicated to educating students in workforce readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy. Over the years, she has served as a mentor and volunteer for The Alliance for Women in Media (Los Angeles), The Singapore Council of Women’s Organization, Women in Media (Sydney) and Women’s Media Networks (Hong Kong & Singapore).
I am currently back in the Asia Pacific region, and am available to mentor people anywhere in the world.

Experience:
Experience Description:
My work has always blended brand and business strategy with a team mentoring/development component. Such engagements in recent years include:
Beautycounter (BC): developed content strategy for an instructional video series empowering 8,500+ BC consultants to have sales conversations with potential customers in a way that drove revenues and reinforced the company’s “trusted brand” status nationwide. Mentored Head of Product Marketing during an intense period of uncertainty and growth.
Redbird: advised Chief Strategy Officer on new ways to deepen and manage relationships with the agency’s signature clients (e.g., Staples).
Diane von Furstenberg (DVF): Mentored store manager and junior stylists at Santa Monica Place on how to improve clienteling and operations to consistently achieve or exceed monthly sales targets during brand reinvention under Jonathan Saunders. Presented “strategy on a page” and vision for the future of DVF as a "positive disrupter" in fashion and retail to the Board.
Teletrac Navman: Provided “surgical strike” guidance to Marketing Director to rapidly repair (in one week) all story telling and positioning of the Company’s fleet tracking software to B2B customers via its new web site.
Earlier mentoring work as a consultant has been for executives at DANONE, The National Broadband Network of Australia, The Walt Disney Company, Unilever, and others. In my in-house roles where I built communications departments from scratch, I recruited and groomed many young professionals who had no prior communications experience. All of them went on to quickly enjoy promotions and global leadership positions.
In addition, I was a Mentor for the Singapore Council of Women’s Organizations for several years. In 2012, I had a unique opportunity to be an enrichment lecturer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, delivering accelerated learning workshops to 500+ people over 10 days on how to use creativity and communications to improve their lives.
My approach reflects my “quick-start” style, leverages my diverse background, and, if appropriate, uses tools and inspiration from Access Consciousness®, Acting Techniques taught in the top schools in Sydney and Los Angeles, and Asian philosophies.
Time commitments would depend on the objectives that would be co-created with the mentee. I am dedicated to your success!
