I served 12 years as VP of a contract manufacturing company, 7 years in quasi-government/non-profit operations. Overall, I have about 15 years of B2B sales and business development including top level oversight of all sales and operations of a growing company.

As companies grow, they tend to departmentalize and be guided by departmental goals. While some degree of autonomy is necessary, there is also a tendency for core high-level goals, value and objective to become somewhat blurred. Focus becomes departmental.
